HE DID IT - Swami Chinmayananda, A Legacy

A few days back read a very inspirational book "He Did It - Swami Chinmayananda, A Legacy". Chinmaya Mission West's publication Mananam has brought out special issue "He Did It – Swami Chinmayanand, A Legacy" as part of special 12 issues, starting with this book, to celebrate Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda's birth centenary in 2015-16
Swami Chinmayananda (8 May 1916 – 3 August 1993), born Balakrishna Menon (Balan) was a great spiritual leader, Vedantic Master, Visionary and Missionary who inspired the formation of Chinamaya Mission in 1953 to spread the message of Vedanta. The organisation founded by his disciples has over 300 centres in India & abroad.
Swami Chinmayananda

He was a disciple of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh (who founded the Divine Life Society) and on his advise studied under Swami Tapovan Maharaj in Uttarkashi.
This book is really an insight into the life, times and creation of the great man, the great soul we know as Reverend Swami Chinmayanand ji or Gurudev as we fondly call him. The story of a man born no doubt with greatness inside but ordinary to the world and later revelation as a Swami a missionary a persuader to the cause of God Himself who brought millions out of their ignorance and sufferings to the light to the path to end the cause of misery itself - the Light in the form of Vedanta. A true teacher a true swami indeed. The book is an inspiration to the readers to form a goal and work towards it - Sadhna & study and service as Gurudev has revealed. The book is a must read for all those seeking true meaning of life.
